Quick Overview

1. Insert Step 1 (14.2 mm): Push the gauge into the emitting pipe. It should slide in easily. If it stops here, the pipe is rejected for being too tight.
2. Push to Step 2 (14.4 mm): Continue pushing. It should fit within the accepted tolerance zone of your manufacturing specification.
3. Check Step 3 (> 14.45 mm): Attempt to push the final step in. The gauge must stop and refuse to enter. If it goes in, the pipe is rejected for being too loose.

Details

The gauge uses three progressive outer diameter (OD) steps to quickly classify whether the pipe's internal diameter is too small, perfect (within tolerance), or too large. For 12 mm OD Pipe Step 1 10.5 mm Go (Minimum Limit) Must enter the pipe. If it does not fit, the pipe ID is too small (under-sized) and fails inspection. Step 2 10.7 mm Go (Target/Max Limit) Should enter the pipe smoothly. This verifies the pipe meets the standard operational size or optimal clearance limit. Step 3 > 10.75 mm No-Go (Reject Limit) Must NOT enter the pipe. If this step slips into the pipe, the pipe ID is too large (over-sized) and fails inspection. For 16 mm OD Pipe Step 1 14.2 mm Go (Minimum Limit) Must enter the pipe. If it does not fit, the pipe ID is too small (under-sized) and fails inspection. Step 2 14.4 mm Go (Target/Max Limit) Should enter the pipe smoothly. This verifies the pipe meets the standard operational size or optimal clearance limit. Step 3 > 14.45 mm No-Go (Reject Limit) Must NOT enter the pipe. If this step slips into the pipe, the pipe ID is too large (over-sized) and fails inspection. For 20 mm OD Pipe Step 1 18.0 mm Go (Minimum Limit) Must enter the pipe. If it does not fit, the pipe ID is too small (under-sized) and fails inspection. Step 2 18.2 mm Go (Target/Max Limit) Should enter the pipe smoothly. This verifies the pipe meets the standard operational size or optimal clearance limit. Step 3 > 18.25 mm No-Go (Reject Limit) Must NOT enter the pipe. If this step slips into the pipe, the pipe ID is too large (over-sized) and fails inspection. For 25 mm OD Pipe Step 1 22.6 mm Go (Minimum Limit) Must enter the pipe. If it does not fit, the pipe ID is too small (under-sized) and fails inspection. Step 2 22.8 mm Go (Target/Max Limit) Should enter the pipe smoothly. This verifies the pipe meets the standard operational size or optimal clearance limit. Step 3 > 22.85 mm No-Go (Reject Limit) Must NOT enter the pipe. If this step slips into the pipe, the pipe ID is too large (over-sized) and fails inspection.
